Sydney Stirm participated in the Rotary 4-Way Speech contest on Tuesday, March 4th at the Bucyrus Public Library. After a meal provided by the Rotary Club, four students gave their prepared speech that was to be unique in nature and align with the Rotary 4-Way test. Buckeye Central, Bucyrus, Colonel Crawford and Wynford each sent a representative.
Sydney gave her speech on the importance of fighting childhood hunger in rural areas like Crawford County. She gave insights, statistics, praise for the local food pantries and backpack program, and ways we can improve for the future. Sydney’s speech was memorized, incredibly articulate, and aligned perfectly with the Rotary’s stipulations. She took home 1st place, which includes a $325 check from the Rotary Club, and will represent Crawford County at the Ohio level in April! We are so excited for her victory and even more proud of her representation of Colonel Crawford! Congratulations Sydney!
