CRITICAL UPATE BELOW:
I’m extremely sorry to share this type of update today – but I just heard from Berry Boss, and they are recommending we delay strawberries for one more week.
They were pummeled with rains and even saw some small hail last night with more forecasted for tomorrow/Fri. This is all due to El Nino but the growers have confidence (even more confidence than the last time we spoke) that harvesting next weekend is optimal as the temps are increasing and rains will subside.
We plan to shift the entire delivery plan 1 week to March 18-21 (so you’d stay on the same day and time of day, just 7 days later than what I originally confirmed). But we are sensitive to the fact that you might have different availability or other concerns that week; please let me know ASAP if you have spring break or foresee another major conflict to receive 1 week later and we’ll adapt as needed . I’ll also start calling you individually, but I know texting/emailing could be easier during school hours. I highlighted my number below.
I am so sorry again. We understand this is a major disturbance as you must coordinate with the students, plan pickups with customers on your end, etc., which is not a small feat.
We are grateful you are trusting us to bring you the very best berries!
Thank you,
Fischer Foods
