Due to extreme weather this past weekend in central Florida, including torrential downpours and colder-than-typical temperatures, there is a serious amount of flooding in the fields so strawberries cannot be harvested this week as planned. I attached a few photos to illustrate. Their Act of God clause has never before needed to be raised but the timing of this rain is just very unfortunate for us.
Today and tomorrow the crews will be clearing out the lost red berries and will need to wait for more water to drain and the white berries to mature. We promise to deliver you the beautiful, delicious strawberries that you have come to expect, and will not rush a shipment of subpar fruit. This means we will shift our distribution plan to early March.
